Gernikako Arbola

Version sung in Urretxu sent to me by Jon Urrestilla Batua version sent to me by Enrike Galarza English Translation
Gernikako arbola
da bedeinkatua
Euskaldunen artean
guztiz maitatua

Eman da zabaltzazu
munduan fruitua
adoratzen zaitugu
arbola santua

Gora Iparragirre,
ta Urretxuarrak, Gora!

Gernikako arbola
Da bedeinkatua
Euskaldunen artean
Guztiz maitatua

Eman ta zabal zazu
Munduan frutua
Adoratzen zaitugu
Arbola santua

Tree from gernika
Is sacred
Among Basques
Much loved

Give and disseminate
Your fruit through the world
We adore you
Sacred tree

I would love very, very much if I, and what I believe it it the wish of so many others like me, were able to listen to the melodies, learning to sing them and able to download them as well.It would another treasure for me, because I am really trying to learn Euskara, and very proud of my ancestry..

Hi Buber,

I personally feel Music is better when listened. It would be good if you could add MP3 files of the songs.

Regards,
Dinesh.

You can drop the "?" after "Batua". It is correct. "Batua" is the name of the "sinthetic" basque invented in the 1960´s to overcome the division of the basque in several variants. Some say that "Batua" is NOT really basque and that it is some kind of Esperanto or Volapük.
