Mugaburu

MUGABURU That is a tipical surname from the north part of ARABA The origin of this surname is located in Salmanton (Aiala), and Okondo, both places in Araba, near of the border with Bizkaia.

Meaning: MUGA means limit or border, and BURU means head, but in toponims, is higher part or top part, so the meaning is :(The house) in the top of the limit

Proves of Nobility: Ochoa de Mugaburu in Bilbao in 1771

Coat of arms: En oro, dos lobos de gules, andantes uno sobre otro. Bordura de plata con ocho aspas de gules

In other book, I have read about a house named Mugaburu in Amurrio (near the other places) with a different coat: En plata un arbol de sinople y a su pie una cabeza de moro ensangrentada
