Izcoa (izco)

IZCOA (IZCO)

Originates in Izco (Valley of Aibar) in 1265.

It means "Place of the Rock" from "Iz" probably a contraction of "Aitz" (rock) and the suffix "ko" (place).

The coat of arms is divided in four parts. The top left and bottom right have a standing lion (of natural color) on a field of silver. The top right and bottom left are on a field of gold and contain two red bands (this is a band that goes from the top right to bottom left of the quadrant).
