Hello,
I´m uruguayan (Uruguay, South America) and I´m in the 5th generation descendant of José Antonio Irastorza, I´m currently looking for more information..
He was the father of Pedro Irastorza (1887) who came to Uruguay and married Ignacia Murúa, who were the parents of my grandmother Ana René Irastorza.
If anyone can help me I would be grateful.
Thanks!

Greetings to everyone. I am a fifth generation descendant of a “son of Guipozcoa, Pais Vasco, Spain.” I need assistance in a project I am currently embarked upon. It is a great genealogical search of family roots and lost “Irastorza/Yrastorza” family links. My great-great grandfather, Gregorio Irastorza (aka “Yrastorza” in the Philippines) was born to Basques parents onboard a ship that sailed from Spain while immigrating to the then Spanish colony of Las Islas Filipinas (now Philippines) in the mid-1800s. His parents (names unknown at this time) came from the town of San Sebastian, Guipozcoa, Pais Vasco, Spain. Gregorio Yrastorza (aka Irastorza) grew up, got married, and had sired seven children. Gregorio settled in Ormoc, Leyte and established a good shipping business in the Philippines and had made significant economic contributions to the early development of the country. His children had since inter-married and established their own clans of successful businessmen in the Philippines and elsewhere. Gregorio’s lineages is richly traced from his arrival in the Philippines to the present generation (150 + years) through the accounts mentioned in a book entitled “THE STORY OF THE ABOITIZ & COMPANY and THE MEN BEHIND IT,” which was published in the Philippines in 1972 by the Aboitiz family, relatives of the Yrastorzas. The information contained therein were further enhanced with additional information from family and friends who have some “piece of the genealogical puzzle,” which I had put all together and developed a login-protected website called “yrastorza.com.” Anyone with “Yrastorza” or “Irastorza” family affiliations, connection, and name can get a free membership and LOGIN assigned, which will allow them to view all information, lineages, and photographs thus documented to date. Members can also provide additional information. The most coveted of all information are those that can trace Gregorio Yrastorza’s family roots in Guipozcoa, Pais Vasco, Spain. If you can assist in some way with this project, please e-mail me at myhermosilla@aol.com or call me at (619) 962-6187---even just to say “hello.”
