Ibarguengoitia

IBARGUENGOITIA

This surname comes from Vizcaya and it means the high or top house of IBARGUREN. From Ibarguren (name of family) and "goitia" (high, top, elevated).

The following is the results of the search for the related name:

IBARGUREN

Originates in Durango y Gordejuela, (Vizcaya).

The meaning is derrived from "Ibar" (riverbank, shore) and "guren" (limit or border).

The coat of arms: On a field of gold is a red cross with a "flor de lis" at the end of each of the apendages of the cross (these are actually part of the cross and of the same color). Inside the cross there are five silver "panelas" (these are like a leaf - they look like an upside down spade). The border is silver containing eight red "aspas" (symbol like an "x").
