Finding information about this surname was quite difficult because the
Heraldic Books seemed to just being leading us on a wild goose chase.
While the name and other varitions were mentioned, very little
information was given about them. This is what we found:
ETCHANCHU said it had origin in Argentina and that it was a variation of
ETCHANDU or ETXANDU. So we looked up this surname and it said:
ETCHANDU said it was a variation of ETCHANDOY or ETXANDOI. So I looked
this up to see if a meaning would be listed, but all it said was:
ETXANDOI originating in Nabarra and Uruguay.
