This surname has houses in Izpazter, Lekeitio and Mundaka (Vizcaya).

The meaning is "place of stones" which comes from "arri" (piedra = rocks or stones) and "ola" (sitio de = place of - denotes location).

The coat of arms is divided in quarters. The 1st and 4th quarter have blue fields and each has three panelas (looks like an upsidedown leaf) of silver in the formation of a triangle. The 2nd and 3rd quarter are gold and each has a red aspa (a symbol that resembles an "X") which covers the whole quarter (goes from border to border) and four stars of the same color. The stars are positioned between the points of the "X."
