ARAMBIDE
This surname originates in Oiartzun and Rentería.
It means "camino de endrinal" (a path bordered on either side by plum
trees). This is from aran (plum) and suffix "bide" (path). There is also
a valley in the Basque Country called "Valle de Arán", so it could mean
the path to or from that valley.
The coat of arms is two silver stars placed diagonally (top left to
bottom right) on a field of red.
Jose de Jesus Arrambide Gonzalez would like to hear from other Arambides.
His email is "jarrambide@hotmail.com" and his mailing address:
HENRIK IBSEN # 162, COLINAS DE SAN JERONIMO
MONTERREY, NUEVO LEON, MEXICO CP 64630
(8) 3151110

| My grandfather's name was Jose Patricio Arrambide. As a young man he lived in the area of Monterrey Mex. His father was Isidro Arrambide also from that area. He was an officer in the Mexican army during the revolution. I would like to hear from more Arrambide families. |
