ARAICO En Vitoria-Gasteiz, hay una prueba de hidalguia en la Chancilleria
de Valladolid en 1766. La ciudad de Ayala, actualmente Araia, se llamo
antiguamente ARAICO, asi que posiblemente algun nativo de Araia tomo este
apellido de su lugar de origen.
Significado, hay varias teorias, pero creo que la mas probable es " Del
Valle" de Arain y ko
Hay Araicos en Gasteiz, Zurbano y Mexico

| Just to add that ARAICO was the second last name of my grandmother, I believe thera are more ARAICO's in the area of Arequipa in south Peru ,call as "ciudad blanca" or white city in English. |

Hallo,
I don't think that ARAICO means "from the valley". Valley is only ARAN in basque.
